Homework Policy for  Language Arts/Social Studies

Students will have reading homework each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night. They will be assigned pages to read from their chosen chapter/AR book. (Accelerated Reader). After reading your child should write a short summary about what they read. Just focus on the most important things that happened in that night’s reading-Beginning/Middle/End of that reading assignment. Each child’s assignment will be a little different because they are reading different books. This reading assignment should take about 30 minutes.  Please make sure that your child is reading on these nights. A typical reading assignment might look like this in your child’s journal.

Read AR pgs. 1-15

Every now and then your child might have class work to complete at home if they are absent, have lots of missing work, or fail to turn in their work.

Occasionally, your child will have a Social Studies test to study for. They should write the test date in their journal and we will include the test date in our weekly newsletter. Before we give a test, we will complete a study guide together and then send it home with your child to help them review the material.
