Classroom Expectations:

Classroom Expectations

We will use a clip up/ clip down chart in class to monitor behavior. Students are encouraged and expected to follow school rules. I will give students a verbal warning before asking them to clip down for misbehavior. Students can also clip up on the class behavior chart for exhibiting great behavior or any of the 7 habits.

Students begin their day on GREEN-Ready to Learn. They may clip up to BLUE-Super Leader.

When a child clips up 5 times, they earn a jewel on their behavior clip. When a child earns 3 jewels, they retire their clip and it is placed in the hallway above our door. When a child retires a clip, they are recognized at one of our early morning awards assemblies in the safe room.

If a student repeatedly misbehaves, they are asked to reflect, or move their clip down. After the first instance of misbehavior, the student moves their clip to YELLOW-Reflect. We ask them to think about how their choice could have been different and what they could do better next time. If a child continues to misbehave, they are asked to move their clip down again to ORANGE-Laps at Recess. Finally, if a child doesn’t not stop misbehaving, they are asked to move their clip down to RED-Parent Contact.

Students will reflect and record their behavior and attendance for each day in their reflection binder in the afternoon.
